Dining | A Taste of Home Cooking at Pratesi Cafe

Just a few meters off the provincial capitol of Camarines Norte, this cafe is a quiet one at that.  Located inside a side street, you will definitely miss this cafe out.  It only had a small facade, not much lighting up front.  We only got to taste its hidden pleasures when our host herded us here.

Welcoming us from the street is a narrow door with steel arches.  A rustic door opens you up to another world of art.  Its interior walls are adorned with lots of picture frames of different artistic themes.   Complementing the walls are the furnitures made with rich brown wood.  Seldom you see establishments surrounded with natural materials and giving you a feeling of home.

Since you get this feeling, you shall expect a taste of home cooked meals and this is surely Filipino.  With heavy wooden chairs and tables, the experience is heightened.  Taste wise, food was exquisite.  Wow that's a word I seldom describe food served.  What was served?  We had the laing (this one was a bit spicy) and it had a different taste from the ones we were served the past days.  Then there was fish steaks.  Lots of garlic on top and it truly flavoured the fish meat (I guess its tuna) all I can say was its so yummy and tasty.  They also served adobo and nothing fancy herein.  It was just a classic home cooked meal that made me remind me of my nanny (I don't know where she is now).  She was a great cook and a visayan lass.

Serving wise.  Yes, the dishes are good for groups.  For a group of 10 pax, we were given 2 sets of laing, fish steak and adobo and with 2 huge platters of rice.  Yummy.... So serving wise?  Two thumbs up.

Price wise. Unfortunately we were  treated here by our hosts so I wasn't able to get hold of their menu.  For sure I will be back here so I promise next time I will provide pictures of this. :)
