About Town | Food is King at IFEX 2018

The International Food Expo (IFEX 2018) held last month at World Trade Center brought a number of exhibitors from various countries.  We were able to taste various food items from Taiwan, China Russia and South Korea.  There might be others but we might somehow missed them due to the large number of people who visited the exposition.

The Expo is the largest exposition in the Philippines that showcases the country's food products and those available in the region as well.    Exhibitors showed a lot of asia's ethnic and specialty foods, tropical fruits, vegetables, seafood, beverages, bakery and confectionery products, meat and poultry, Halal-certified products, as well as natural, organic and healthy food products.

The three day event is well known to be the premier trade exhibition and business to business networking platform for local and international food companies. A place to discover new products and markets and transact with world's largest consolidators and buyers.

Organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Mission or CITEM, this agency is the export promotion arm of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and co presented by the Department of Agriculture (DA) with cooperation and through the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Services (AMAS).
