About Town | People Management Association of the Philippines Pushes For Improved Employer Employee Relations

In a recent press launched held by the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), the not for profit organization of 1,800 member companies and individual management executives pushed for improved employer employee relations.

They discussed the issue on Endo or contractual employs who are classified as 555.  A practice of hiring employees for only 5 months, a month shy of them being regulars, then rehiring them again for the same company and same job for another 5 month contract.  It's a continuing cycle and PMAP believes this is an abusive cycle of hiring and they wish this would stop with the introduction of a new Senate Bill 1826.

The new bill is for strengthening workers rights to security of tenure and amends some salient points in the Labor Code to address the issue of Endo or 555.  PMAP hopes to discuss this more among their members on their upcoming annual conference titled EXCELLERATEHR.PH:  Elevating and Accelerating Filipino People Management.

This annual meet will happen in Cebu City at the Water Front Hotel and Casino on July 17 to 19, 2019.  The conference will tackle the above issues along with bringing people managers up to speed on matters of digital and trends on best practices and programs.
