Tech | Nokia 3310 is now in the Philippines
The lovable and nostalgic Nokia 3310 (2017) is out now in the philippine market. Priced at Php2,490, the phone comes in four colors, yellow, warm red, dark blue and grey.
Why buy this phone;
1) make phone calls. yes, you can make phone calls with this thing. With no social media messaging, you will have to make phone calls.
2) send and receive SMS or Text Messaging. Again you have no choice but to make text messages. With the keypad nonetheless. It would be easier to just make a phone call. Telcos will love you making those unlimited phone call promos you are getting.
3) Play Snake. Enough said.
4) Its great as a calculator. No explanation need, simply calculate.
5) Use it as an alarm. I've used my smartphone as an alarm, but I just couldn't wake up to it. With the 3310 tones, you will definitely wake up.
6) Listen to music. This thing has FM Radio, and if you have pre loaded Micro SD card, you play your favorite MP3s.
7) for your grand parents who isn't tech friendly.
8) if you want to have a discreet phone like James Bond. With the small form factor, you can easily hide this phone. As to your reason for having a discreet phone, simply just don't tell me, I won't ask either.
As to why not to buy this thing?
1) Internet is only 2.5G. We are now at 4G and LTE. Go figure. With the Philippines having the slowest and most expensive internet, that will add to your frustration.
2) Doesn't support apps. You can't install Facebook, Twitter, Messenger, or Instagram. Your social life is dead with this thing.
If you want to buy this thing, buy it for nostalgia. Maybe make this as a collector piece. I would like buy the original 3310 and the other models that came with it back then. Then I would show my grandkids how we were tech savvy during those days.
