Travel PH | Camayan Beach Resort and Hotel in Subic Zambales

Set against a nature reserve, the Camayan Beach Resort and Hotel is a great away when you are in Subic, Olongapo City in Zambales.  Roughly 4-5 hours drive from Manila or 5-6 hours travel by bus,  the travel time is worth it once you see the resort.

A wharf will be there to greet you, the typical wharf, a typical entrance.  Once you go in, an overhang of a restaurant, the Turtle's Nest will be your start of relaxation.  Look at the view above, that's the view you see on your way to the Camayan Beach Resort and Hotel.

Checking in is a breeze and you will be attended to your room.  Our room was a bit of walking as we were billeted at the beach front.  No complaints here :)

The room was big or huge rather.  Mine had two queen size beds with lots of space still to run around.  The airconditioning unit was nice as it was already cool when I walked in.  The mini bar was stocked well, toiletries and towels abound and a secure box was made available inside the room as well.  Water pressure is strong and they have hot water as well.  Internet was fast, yes they do have internet.  Cellular signal is also strong in their area.  So there's no reason for you to miss your streaming koreanovela or an occasional text or calls from important persons in your life.

A few meters off my room was the beach.  The glorious beach.  Waves were a bit big during our stay but nevertheless it was still good for swimming.  Waters were clear and inviting.  Management told us that as part of their agreement in putting up of a hotel here, they will maintain whatever natural habitats were present on site.  So they keep the waters clean and the nature reserve behind them in pristine and in natural condition.

The results of their upkeep of the environment is evidenced by a number of fishes swimming around their wharf and beaches, and the presence of the monkeys that traverse the hotel from time to time.

They pride themselves of this upkeep of the nature reserve along with great service and food to their guests.  Making one's stay in Camayan Beach Resort and Hotel a blissful one.  What a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of Manila.

Now on to their food.  They have two restaurants on site, Turtles' Nest, which is a sports bar and the other The Reef, which is along the beach front.  Both offers great menu and food for their guests.  We stayed more with The Reef as this where we had our meals.  Along with your room a breakfast buffet is given.

A limited selection of dishes were made available on their breakfast buffet, but what seems lacking is bolstered by the level of taste and quality that they served.  Each dish present was exceptionally delicious.  Not your ordinary eggs, hams and fried rice and other stuff on buffet.  Truly top notch.  I went to the buffet table many times over and I bade goodbye to my diet here.

Not to be outdone by their breakfast buffet, their lunch and dinner buffet were great as well.  Enough talk, just check out these pictures.

How to reach this place

By Car - They are easily located on Waze.  You will use the NLEX and SCTEX for faster travel.

By Bus - Take any bus line that go to Ologapo City (Fare roughtly Php240-Php250) and take a jeep (Fare Php8) that will take you to SM City Olongapo.  Tell the driver to drop you off to the entrance of Subic that will lead you to the Golden Dragon Parking Area.  From there, a shuttle will take you here.  There's a bit of walking from the gate to here so bear it a little bit.  Departure times from that area are as follows; 8:30am, 10:30am and 1:00pm.

You can take a taxi from the bus station, but that would entail negotiated rates.  Locals say these taxis charge Php1,000 one way.  The taxi can accommodate 4 people for that price.  I've seen vans but this writer was not able to ask if they are for rent as well.
