Travel PH | A Captivating View of the Ocean in Canimog Island - Camarines Norte

Canimog Island is the biggest plot of land among the so called Siete Pecados group of islands just off the town of Mercedes.  Otherwise known as Crocodile island because of its unique silhouette  of a crocodile, of course.

Now this island does not boast of sandy beaches, but running all around it is good for diving and game fishing.  It is also good for short trekking up to the light house.  Nothing to worry on the trekking part, there's a cemented pathway to the top so climbing up is as easy as pie.

To reach the top is your ultimate goal on this island.  Just simply look down and you get a glimpse of great view of the beach below.  Truly stunning and breath taking.  Well worth walking up for 10-15 minutes.  There's growth of trees on top so you will be shaded somehow and savor the fresh and cool breeze coming from the ocean.  The sounds of crashing waves below caps off the soothing experience near the light house.

Going to Canimog is as simply arranging for a boat to take you on a siete pecados islang hopping trip.  To get a better rental prices, we suggest coordinating with their Tourism Office just inside the Fish Port which acts also the Terminal for passengers.

The boat owners also know which time to go to this island as the same does not have its own port.  Its mostly uninhabited so to reach its shores, the boat must reach its rocky beach so they keep track of low and high tides.

Hotels
There are a lot of hotels in Daet and if you took a day trip in Mercedes, you can go back to Daet easily.  If you want to greet the morning sunrise with the sand under your feet, then arrange with the Tourism Office that you would like to stay in Apuao Grande in the evening.

A travellers tip - First Class or Deluxe Buses, that may have its own comfort room, and both have lazy boy type of seats can be had at during these times 9pm and 10pm if you take Superlines or DLTB.  You will reach Daet faster and arrive at 4-5am the next day.

Another tip - reserve and pay tickets personally at their office days ahead of your trip especially if you want to take the First Class or Deluxe Buses.  These are immediately sold out.
