Travel | Horizon Hotel Subic
On our trip to Subic to attend the PRURide PH 2019, we were booked at Horizon Hotel. Its a two story hotel with a number of rooms that's a walk away from Harbor Point Mall and a bit of walking if you want to reach SM City. There were a lot of hotels in this area and theirs is located at the end of the street. Making it a quiet place to sleep in.
They had a driveway that's convenient for alighting passengers. Checkin in after a long van ride is a great way to start our Subic experience. Once you pass through those main doors, you will be greeted right away with their smiling staff at the front desk.
Since we were invites to the event, the staff knew who we were and which rooms we were booked. I had my bike with me and instead of storing it a safe place, they allowed it to be brought to my room. This made me heave a sigh of relief. Next to my wife, other loved ones include my kids, my camera and my bike, in that order. Glad to know that this hotel respected my loves, and I had my bike beside my bed.
We stayed from Thursday till Sunday and our room comes with free breakfast at their cafe. There were only a few choices for breakfast, a korean, an american, and Filipino breakfasts. Drinks have a choice of coffee or fruit juices.
The hotel have lots of guests so we suggest you take your breakfast as soon as their cafe is open around 630am.
There are not much amenities in this hotel. Its just a simple hotel, you get a clean, sweet smelling bed, fresh towels, a hot shower, a cool aircon, a flat screen tv with a considerable good number of english broadcasts, a personal ref and a safe. The room in itself is huge and my bed was the same. Its not your typical twin bedroom, its just one big matrimonial bed.
A good night's sleep is easy at Horizon Hotel, I was just watching a movie and somehow I was asleep in no time. Must have been the fluffy pillows, the supple bed mattress and comfy blankets that made me relax to the max in my room. Waking up wasn't easy as I was so attached to my bed. Good thing they are good with wake up calls or else I wasn't able to ride my race at 5am Sunday.
After staying three nights here, it's time to say goodbye. I was sad to leave but I had to. Our coverage of the PRURide PH event came to an end and I want to thank Horizon Hotel for their hospitality.
