About Town | Hakata Ikkousha Celebrates Fathers Day With a Ramen Eating Contest

Last Fathers Day, the world famous Hakata Ikkousha restaurant in Festival Mall Alabang held a Ramen Eating Contest.  The event was open to all Fathers who ate at the restaurant.

The mall was teeming with fathers that the event was able to invite a total of 14 participants.  The group was segregated into 2 groups to participate in the first heat.  For a time limit of 20 minutes, all were encouraged to eat as many bowls of ramen as they can.  For the participant who could eat the most in each batches would then advance to the finals.  The grand winner will win a customized ramen bowl, a Php5,000 cash prize and Php10,000 worth of Hakata Ikkousha Gift Certificates.

Of course Katooga.PH was excited to join in and we sent our editor our Ramen Eating Monster.  He was grouped with the first batch of fathers.  For that first salvo, he ate almost three bowls of their Shio Ramen, one of the best selling in the store.  For his feat, he lorded over the other 5 participants in Batch 1.

For the second batch, it was a vlogger, Lord Ancheta who won that group with 3 bowls.  He had a tough competitor during his first heat and he won by having less weight on his third bowl.

Finals time is was between our editor and Lord.  Instead of eating unlimited bowls of ramen, it was agreed that he who finished a bowl of ramen first wins the Grand Prize.  The Ramen in question was a bowl of God Fire with Level 1 of spice factor.  Our editor was wary of this as he has a low tolerance for spice but he still went on.  True enough, Lord had no problem with spice and proceeded to win the Grand Prize of the first ever Hakata Ikkousha Ramen Eating Contest.
