Travel | Dioso Farms - Pandan Antique

During our 2019 Panay Trip, we had a lot of chances in exploring interesting new places. Its been decades since I ate on a farm.  I was just a young boy then, while visiting our province, I was treating to eating in the open.  I miss all of that.  Been in the city most of my life since then, I wasn't been able to experience this again, until now.

Thanks to our hosts in Pandan, Antique, the Pandan Beach Resort.  Aside from having a great beach front place, they happen to own also a farm.   A farms that's away from the main road, pass through some green rice fields, and there's a stream that runs through it.  Describing it like this does not do the place justice.  One should really be there to experience it.

After going to through the Malumpati Springs via water tubing, we headed out to Dioso Farms for a quick lunch.  After passing the rice paddies, and walking along a quiet slow moving water of a creek, we reached the place in short time.

At the entrance, there's a make shift bridge welcoming you to the place.  A wide expanse of land then envelopes you to the stillness and serenity of the farm.  On your left, a trail leads you to a pool fed by the river, in the center they have their organic farm, on the right you got the caretaker's shed.  What's in the center?  A tree with a bamboo table on it.  This is where our lunch was prepared..

To really push for the farm hospitality, a bamboo leaf was draped over our table and all the prepared food was on it.  We had grilled Tilapia and fried shrimps, both harvested from their small pond, Freshly picked buko as drinks, with Caimito or Star Apple as desserts, what a great farm experience indeed.

We didn't have much time on the farm, or else surely we had a great time there.  The lunch was already great, it would have been grand if we were to try to the newly constructed pool, picked fresh vegetables from the farm, basked under the sun inside their hot water kawa, or just simply lounged on their native hammock.  Maybe next we would be back again and give more time to the other things this farm has to offer.

As per the owners, they are continually thinking of new ways of enhancing tourist experience to the farm.  Who knows what they have in store for us when we come back.

How to reach the place?
From Caticlan, take a Ceres Bus to Ilo-ilo via San Jose.  It will just be 45 minutes till you reach the town of Pandan Antique.  Take a tricycle to Pandan Beach Resort for Php50.  They have vans to take you to Dioso Farms and Malumpati Cold Springs.
